When I returned to Ireland, I completed my Cambridge English Language Teaching Award (CELTA) and began teaching adults at several schools in Dublin. After teaching in Dublin for 3 years I started teaching for an Irish NGO (Cultúr Migrants Centre) and began studying for my Masters in Primary Education. While working for Cultúr, I began to specialise in preparing students for Cambridge English exams such as IELTS, FCE, PET, BEC, CAE and I have been very lucky to meet hundreds of ESL learners from all over the world!

Hi! My name is Paul Rooney and I’m an ESL teacher and Primary School Teacher from Ireland. I started teaching 12 years ago in South Korea, working with kindergarten and middle school children while I was travelling and instantly realized I had found my calling, I loved teaching!

When I returned to Ireland, I completed my Cambridge English Language Teaching Award (CELTA) and began teaching adults at several schools in Dublin. I started my career as a primary teacher in 2022 and I currently work as a Primary School Teacher specializing in working with EAL students and I now work with many EAL students in several different schools, helping their English and helping them to adjust to life in Ireland.
